The Black Moods
The Black Moods
The Black Moods are a 3-piece rock outfit hailing from Tempe, Arizona, by way of the Missouri Ozarks. Comprised of Josh Kennedy (lead guitarist/vocalist), Jordan Hoffman (bassist), and Danny "Chico" Diaz (drums), the trio blends various Rock & Roll styles that span from the past 4 decades to form their own signature sound that resembles what would be the musical offspring of Bad Company and the Foo Fighters. This band is bringing a new level of heat out of the Sonora desert led by one of the most electric front men/guitarists in music today. The Black Moods bring what rock music has been missing for some time - PURE, EFFORTLESS TALENT. The band's self-titled debut album is packed with a healthy dose of guitar driven power houses such as "Can't Sleep at Night" & "Like A Wave," to compelling sing-along anthems like "Hey You" & "Don't Let Them Get You Down." Their live shows are filled with high energy, infectious guitar solos and attitude that can keep the crowds' attention for hours. Having received acclaimed praise from fans and critics alike as equal parts natural talent and live performance superstars, the group delivers powerful guitar riffs, melodic bass and drum beats that make your heart pound like a kick drum. Fresh out of the studio with producers Kenny Carkeet (AWOLNATION) and Jim Kaufman (Helmet, Opiate for the Masses), The Black Moods have been touring since their debut album was released in April 2012. Don't miss your chance to see this band live and get your own personal glimpse of rock & roll history in the making.

THE KURSK
THE KURSK
The Kursk originally formed in 2006. Members included Skyler Smith, Sebastian (Seabass) Karuppan and Stephanie Prevedel. After a short time practicing, a show at the Springfield midtown library, and several visceral shows at The Magic Bean coffee (not!) shop, they fell apart. Skyler and Sebastian retreated briefly to learn every Led Zeppelin song from Led Zeppelin I through CODA. Shortly after communing with the dark lord the group added to their ranks the thunderous Clinton Houseman and played extensively in Springfield throughout late 2006-2007. This period would prove essential to shaping the members of the band as well as forging the sound that they maintain now. The Kursk recorded "Songs from an Unfinished Room" at the end of the Seabass iteration of the band and Sebastian moved on to pursue a productive occupation as a biological researcher, but has remained a tremendous influence on the rest of the band and holds the position of honorary percussionist. 2008-2009 was a hiatus that allowed Skyler and Clinton to learn the things that make adults wish they were children again. In 2010 the band reformed with Alex Stephens on drums. As the band evolved the members busted their chops and honed their sound. They recorded a five song E.P. with Lou Whitney at The Studio in late 2011. The self titled E.P. is available for free download or streaming on Soundcloud. After an appearance on TAG radio and regular shows the band again dissolved and slowly reformed this time with Tim Labrie on drums. Over the short 8 month period with the magnificent Tim, The Kursk has played many shows, each better than the last. They have recorded a full length album and a mini album with Mark Bilyeu. No small undertaking, the band recorded the 18 tracks in less than 24 hours, and is currently waiting on the final mixed and mastered tracks. Their debut album "Arrow" is due to be released within the next couple of months.
